Out of State School Psychologist Disclosure

Central Washington University makes every effort to determine whether or not programs resulting in professional licensure or certification are recognized outside of Washington State.

Students are also encouraged to be proactive, as certification and licensure requirements vary by state and over time, and licensing board and contact information are provided on the primary licensure disclosure webpage.

The table below collects programs identified by CWU as leading to or endorsing school psychology licensure which may be considered for out-of-state recognition:

Authorization Disclosure

Although Central Washington University's School Psychology program is recognized by The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and leads to eligibility for certification in Washington State, no official reciprocity exists between states on a national level.

Students who complete the program and attain the minimum score on the National School Psychologist exam are eligible to become Nationally Certified School Pyschologists (NCSP) which may ease the process of recognition and authorization for practice in other states and territories.

Those interested in pursuing out-of-state practice should review the NASP's state credentialing information and also contact their state authority via NC-SARA's psychology directory.
