Aircraft Fleet

When embarking on your journey in aviation, the type and quality of the aircraft fleet at your disposal for training is a crucial aspect to consider. Picture yourself climbing aboard a diverse range of aircraft, each equipped with the latest avionics and safety features. As you get familiar with the controls, you learn the unique nuances and performance characteristics of each aircraft. This experience can be immensely beneficial, as it prepares you to handle various types of aircraft in your future career. Some programs may offer training in both single-engine and multi-engine planes, and even in different classes of aircraft like seaplanes and helicopters. Experiencing this level of advanced technology can be invaluable, particularly since many commercial airlines use similar systems. As you progress through your training, remember that the range and quality of the aircraft fleet will play a key role in shaping your skills and experiences as an aspiring aviator.

Central Washington University operates a fleet of new Piper aircraft for flight training. Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot training utilizes Piper Archers (PA-28-181). Commercial pilot training also uses a Piper Arrow (PA-28R-201) or Piper Archers (PA-28-181) with two-axis auto pilot (Technically Advanced Aircraft) for their complex aircraft training. Commercial Multiengine training is conducted with Piper Seminoles (PA-44-180). Additionally, a Cessna 172R is utilized for spin training.
