Grace Inae Blum, Ph.D.

Grace Inae Blum is an assistant professor in the Department of Education, Development, Teaching, and Learning at Central Washington University. She is a teacher educator in the early childhood education, elementary education, and TESL/Bilingual Education programs. Her research interests include teacher preparation for linguistically diverse contexts and the recruitment/retention of educators of Color.

Elizabeth Fountain, Ph.D.

Liz serves as a mental health counselor, faculty member, Dean, Director, and Associate Provost. She teaches, advises, and writes (creatively – including two published comic novels). Her favorite thing about teaching: I get to keep learning and call it a “job!”

Maria Hays

Maria is a senior lecturer in the School of Education at Central. At Central, she primarily teaches in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. She is currently finishing up her Ph.D. at the University of Washington in Learning Sciences and Human Development. Her research interests include educational technology, hybrid and online learning, and teacher education.

Richard Niebusch

Richard started his CWU teaching career in 1999 in the Law & Justice Program and later taught in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies. He taught courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He enjoys the opportunity to instruct in multiple disciplines and to work with students that have diverse educational and career interests.

Liane C. Pereira, Ph.D.

Liane is a Sri Lankan Canadian associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Central Washington University. She is a developmental psychologist and previously worked as a secondary special education teacher. Her research examines the inequities and intersections of the relationship among social-emotional, educational, and mental health outcomes in students.

Charles Pringle, P.E.

Charles is an Associate Professor at Central Washington University (CWU). He teaches Lean Manufacturing, CAD/CAM Manufacturing, Mechanical Design I & II, Finite Element Analysis, and Senior Capstone in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. Charles has a Master of Science in Engineering Technology and a mechanical Professional Engineer (P.E. #55733) in Washington State.

Susan (Sue) Rivera, Ph.D.

Sue earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah. She broadened her interdisciplinary skills working in several different sectors, including government, industry, and non-profits. Currently, Sue teaches a variety of courses in the ITAM Department, including data and financial analysis, administrative management, business communication, and IT sustainability.

Taylor Roice

Taylor proctors introductory nutrition and metabolism content for the College of Education and Professional Studies. He is a CWU alum with 8 years of experience working in education, and he plans to earn a Ph.D. in nutrition or exercise physiology. His mentors during the CETL training were Senior Airman Kyle Arnold and Dr. Susan Hawk.

Christopher Schedler, Ph.D.

Dr. Christopher Schedler (Professor of English) teaches courses in American and Multicultural Literatures, Latino & Latin American Studies, and American Indian Studies. He has completed the Master Online Teacher Certification and received the Outstanding Online Teaching Peer Mentor Award, teaching awards from the College of Arts & Humanities and CWU Alumni Association, and the University Distinguished Professor of Teaching award.

Katy Tenhulzen

As a Certified Child Life Specialist since 2001, Katy supported patients and families at Seattle Children’s Hospital for many years. She taught at Lake Washington Institute of Technology as a Parenting Educator prior to coming to CWU. She now serves as the director of the Child Life program in Child Development and Family Science at CWU.
