Covid Protocol
Navigating COVID at CWU
CWU places the utmost importance on the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. We encourage all employees and supervisors to stay informed by referring to the most up-to-date guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Key Reminders
- If you have tested positive for COVID, please isolate from others to prevent the spread of the virus.
- If you are feeling unwell and suspect you might have COVID or another contagious disease, please take the necessary precautions to isolate yourself.
Currently, CWU is not monitoring COVID vaccinations/boosters, symptoms, or isolation periods. We trust our employees to determine the best care and course of action for themselves and for others.
Under normal circumstances, CWU does not require medical verification of the reason for use of sick leave by an employee. Furthermore, according to WAC 357-31-130, employers must allow the use of accrued sick leave "by reason of exposure of the employee to a contagious disease when the employee's presence at work would jeopardize the health of others."
If you have questions, please reach out to your supervisor or HR Partner. If you do not know who your HR Partner is, please contact HR@cwu.edu to be connected with the appropriate person.
